At SAMFORTUNA FOUNDATION, we work to ensure that communities have equitable and long-term access to the natural resources they depend on. Our Sustainable Resource Management programs are designed to promote the efficient use, conservation, and restoration of key environmental assets — especially water, soil, and land.
Through community participation, scientific planning, and local innovation, we help rural and urban areas build resilience against climate and resource-related challenges.
Our Key Interventions:
Water Conservation & Security Implementing watershed development, rainwater harvesting, check dams, and recharge structures to restore groundwater and ensure year-round water availability.
Watershed & Catchment Management Promoting soil and moisture conservation, afforestation, and land-use planning to improve ecosystem health and agricultural productivity.
Sustainable Agriculture & Land Use Encouraging practices like organic farming, agroforestry, and regenerative agriculture that protect soil fertility and reduce environmental degradation.
Participatory Natural Resource Planning Engaging local stakeholders in mapping, monitoring, and managing community resources with a focus on sustainability and equity.
Urban Resource Efficiency Promoting water-efficient technologies, rooftop harvesting systems, and green infrastructure in urban and peri-urban areas.
Training & Capacity Building Educating farmers, village institutions, and youth on sustainable resource management practices through workshops and field demonstrations.
